LANDMARK TRUST: Causeway House, Northumberland - April 2014 (Built circa 1770)

Ideally placed to explore Hadrian’s Wall, this cute and cosy farmhouse is the only house in Northumberland still thatched in heather. The Roman fort and settlement of Vindolanda are close by but we didn’t do any exploring as the weather was pretty miserable and it’s all about winding down, settling in and enjoying the property for us. We had a mid-week visit from Claire and ventured out with her to Corbridge which was pretty and worth it for the wonderful treasure trove on sale at ‘RE’. Well worth leaving the house for.
